Dan has been a practicing lawyer since early 2000, admitted as a solicitor in Queensland, New South Wales and England and Wales.
Dan specialises in several areas of law including tourism and entertainment law (liquor and gaming), hotel development, and large development projects with commercial and residential integration. Dan is also actively involved with all manner of clients involved with building and construction, planning law, management rights, business and corporate advisory, acquisitions and sales and other major property and commercial transactions.
Dan has practised in London for two and half years acting for several large hotel and liquor operators and was involved in the role out of branded leisure concepts and large scale portfolio sales and purchases.
Dan is a regular
contributor to liquor and gaming industry initiatives and acts
for several owners of all types of licensed premises (from pubs,
clubs, and nightclubs to restaurants, resorts and accommodation
venues across Queensland and northern New South Wales). He also
provides strategic and technical advice in
business operations
for several of our clients.
Kelly Jameison
Consultant
Miss Kelly Jameison joined Commercial Licensing Specialists in January 2005 as an Office Assistant and Junior Consultant. Since then, Miss Jameison has developed her skills in the Liquor and Gaming industry and expanded her knowledge to further hone her expertise in the processing of all Liquor and Gaming applications and licenses. During the past 3.5 years that Miss Jameison has been employed at Commercial Licensing Specialists, she has gained a wide range of knowledge and knowhow
regarding the approval of applications and has earnt her position as a Senior Consultant.
Miss Jameison has completed a number of successful applications during her time at Commercial Licensing Specialists including applications for General Licence, On Premise Licences, Producer/Wholesaler License, Limited Licenses, Residential Licenses, Adult Entertainment Permits, Transfer applications, Extended Hours Permits, Alterations and Interim Licenses for both Liquor and Gaming. She is a valued and experienced part of the Commercial Licensed Specialists team of Consultants and Advisors.

Jenny Wood
Partner
Jenny was an intricate part in the
inception of the first liquor and gaming licensing consultancy
practice on the Gold Coast as far back as 1997. With a
background in administration in legal and accountancy practices
in Victoria, this proved a solid grounding to expand her skills
and experience in the legal area of the administration of liquor and
gaming licence applications.
Since 1997, the firm
has evolved from a two staff operation to over 6 staff members. With
an office in North Queensland, Jenny was able to undertake
applications throughout the whole of the State of Queensland, from Cooktown to Coolangatta.
She has been instrumental in the
development of many licensed premises in Queensland and provided
all types of licenses for clients since 1997. These include
Resort, Hotel, Golf Courses, Airport, Restaurant and vessel
operation licences.
Over the last 12 years, Jenny has
conducted objector's conferences and liaised with numerous
agencies including Police, Local Government and Government
Representatives in processing all types of client applications.
Natasha Briffa
Research Consultant
Miss Briffa joined Commercial Licensing Specialists in 2008 in
the position of Research Consultant. Since then, Miss Briffa
has successfully completed a number of Public Interest
Assessments (PIA) and Community Impact Statements (CIS). In
addition, Miss Briffa has completed numerous Risk Assessed
Management Plans (RAMP), all of which have been granted approval
by the Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing, Chief Executive.
Miss Briffa is currently completing a Bachelor of Psychology.
As a result of completing 2.5 years of her undergraduate
psychology degree, Miss Briffa is subsequently highly skilled in
administering surveys and analysing data. Furthermore, as a
result of administering residential, business and key advisor
surveys, Miss Briffa has developed an understanding of the
community’s response to liquor and gaming applications.
In addition, Miss Briffa has successfully completed numerous
academic reports and as a result is well qualified in written
reports and submissi ons to all governmental bodies and local
authorities.
